Philanthropy

From 1993 to 2012, Lambda Chi Alpha’s philanthropy was the North American Food Drive (NAFD), which began as the “Pantry Raid” at Millsaps College in the early 1980s. Though the “Pantry Raid” was not the only food drive in Lambda Chi Alpha at the time, the general fraternity used it as a model for a fraternity-wide philanthropy.

In 2012, NAFD was discontinued under that name and rolled into an ongoing partnership with Feeding America. Please visit their website for more information and see how you can help solve hunger.

The Millsaps College chapter hosts a rather messy affair in the fall semester, Watermelon Bust, to help raise money for this philanthropy. The “Food Drive” collection efforts occur in the fall around the Jackson / Belhaven area – with all proceeds going to Stewpot.
